Incorporating original music by Klezmer artist, Zoe Aqua, the resulting performance will be an multidisciplinary piece that uses performance as a way to interrogate the Jewish identity today by looking at out past and confronting our future. The stories of the women’s complicated feelings towards their identities will be juxtaposed with stories of their foremothers, weaving a tapestry of diverse experiences that connect us to each other and to humanity. By devising a piece from scratch, we are claiming our own stories; sharing our culture with each other and our audience.
